Located in historic St. Charles, Trailhead Brewing Co. has been open since 1995. We are a trailhead in every sense of the word. Nestled in the richly historic district of Old St. Charles, the site Trailhead occupies served as the starting point for the Lewis and Clark exploration of the Louisiana Purchase. It later served as a trailhead to fur traders, settlers and even frontiersman Daniel Boone. To hikers and bikers, Trailhead marks one of the eastern Missouri entrances to the Katy Trail.

Brewed on-site, our traditional hand-crafted beers range from the light Trailblazer Blond Ale to the dark, robust Old Courthouse Stout, plus a number of original recipe seasonal brews. Our full-service restaurant has the perfect meal to compliment the ale of your choice. Featuring such items as Slow Smoked Prime Rib and Barbecued Smoked Chicken, as well as sandwiches, salads, soups, entrees, pizzas and appetizers, our menu is sure to please even the most discriminating tastes.

Trailhead is located in the renovated Old Grist Mill at the corner of Boone’s Lick and Main Street in historic Old St. Charles. From the moment you walk through our doors, the lively atmosphere and interior architecture of Trailhead take over. Our multi-level layout offers views of the extensive glass-enclosed brewing facilities from all three levels. Our decor is traditional with light-colored wood, exposed brickwork and stainless steel, which compliment the look of our brewing equipment.

With a seating capacity of 300 inside and 100 outside on two patios, we are able to meet the demand for our unique beers and appetizing foods all while providing excellent, fast and friendly service. We also welcome parties both large and small with several different-sized private rooms. So what are you waiting for? Visit us today for an experience the whole family is sure to enjoy.
